The third edition of Openhouse Ecotan, a special event dedicated to brands of the fashion & design sector, was held last May, Thursday 4, registering a great interest; this year the topic was “Join the Future. Join Ecotan Biocircular Leather”.

The evocative showroom of Hashtag Florence, in Santa Croce sull’Arno, proved once again to be the perfect location to host the event where the new Ecotan collections, developed together with the tanneries Camaleonte, Giovanni Pezzoli Pellami, Conceria La Scarpa, Polaris & Co, Volpi Concerie, and Hashtag Florence were displayed.

Deliberately held in a warm and welcoming environment, Openhouse by Ecotan offers tanneries the opportunity to take care of interpersonal relationships, dealings with brands, and to introduce their creations by explaining them in detail. The initiative promoted by Silvateam, a leading company in the production of vegetable extracts and in the development of low environmental impact tanning products, is the perfect occasion for trade operators to discover and experience the biocircular leathers made by tanneries and to fully appreciate the metal-free tanning process ‘Ecotan’.

Furthermore, two important conferences on topics related to the world of leather took place during the day, held respectively by Gustavo Adrián Defeo, CEO of Ars Tinctoria, who analyzed the evolution of EU regulations in terms of labeling fashion products and environmental passports, and by Milena Buttarello and Carlo Brondi, who instead examined the role of training in the choice of materials with a view to sustainable design.
